Artist: Dave Matthews Band
Album: Stand Up
Song: Dreamgirl
Tabbed by: Ian Socha
Standard Tuning
h - hammer on
s - slide
Listen to the song for the timing of the intro/chorus
riff, he plays behind the beat on a few notes, more
towards the end of the riff (after the last note on
the D string just slide up a few frets & let go just
before repeating the riff). I think I got the basic
chords down, they seem to sound better with the bottom
two strings muted - let me know if you find something
that works better. Have fun...
Intro/Chorus riff:
e --------------------------------------
B --------------------------------------
G --------------------------------------
D -9-7-6---6h7-6-------6-4-2---2h4-2s---
A -------7-------7---4-------4----------
E --------------------------------------
Verse:
E A
I would dig a hole all the way to China
E
Unless of course I was there
A
Then I'd dig my way home
E
If by digging I could steal
A E
The wind from the sails of the greedy men
A
Who rule the world
Bridge:
E B A
Still you're my best friend
E B A
And after a good, good drunk, you and me
E B A
Wake up and make love after a deep sleep
E
Where I was dreaming, I was dreaming
Of a dreamgirl
Intro/Chorus Riff played over E and A
For each orchestra hit (they play 5 quickly) on the
break in the song after the 2nd chorus (about 2:30
into the track), I just play an F# power chord
(244xxx)
Again, the CD just came out & I'm sure there's better
ways to play it, hopefully the intro/chorus riff will
help get you started.
